What is it? What does it do? And why to consider it in your new mattress! -
First off there are two main forms of latex used in mattresses and those are Dunlop and Talalay. Our brand “Symbol Mattress” uses Dunlop and I will explain why we feel Dunlop is better for not only sleeping but how it is made.
What are the differences between Talalay and Dunlop latex? –
The main difference in feel between the two types of foam is the springiness. While all types of latex foam have a springy and elastic feel, Talalay foam has an extremely springy, “bouncy” feel. Some people prefer this, but many do not like this “bounciness”. We have found that Dunlop works well for just about everyone while Talalay is more polarizing and produces a wide range of opinions.
Other main point of difference is:
What are the benefits to latex? -
Latex is known for offering moderate levels of conformity and more resilient feeling than memory foam. Though it tends to match on pressure and pain relief, latex does not offer the slow-response/sinking feeling of memory foam. It is more of an instant reaction you receive from adjusting while you sleep.
Why should I buy a mattress with latex?-
Comfort – Pain reduction and pain prevention is a major benefit to having latex in your mattress. Latex mattresses relieve pressure points and also prevent or reduce other pain they have experienced, including lower back pain. Because latex is a resilient material, it is able to support sleepers with placing excess pressure on hips and shoulders, and contours just enough to support proper alignment.
